Deep Velvet Kiss

(Janet Lee Myatt)
January 10, 2005
Bluesy-rock: recorded at Red Rooster Studios

I had been going through my old high school photo album with one of my sons and was reminded of those times and the immediate crush I felt for a handsome young man. I remember how I felt when he walked into the choir room for the first time and that led to this song!

DEEP VELVET KISS
Copyrighted 2001

You walk into the room suddenly everything is magnified

Colors are brighter smells are sharper

And I’m mesmerized by the light in your eyes

Find my feet won’t move and now my mouth’s gone dessert dry

Feel naked standing here and I’m looking for a place to hide

You’re lips just looks so sweet like a delicious treat

Come on and give me a deep velvet kiss

Come on and kiss me on a velvet night like this

Touch me I’m here and waiting and I’m anticipating

Tasting your luscious lips, you are my favorite wish

Come on and give me a deep velvet kiss

Whenever you’re around I become suddenly aware

Of the curve of my hip and the way my skin

Tingles and feels when it’s bare

Decide to make my move and silently send up a prayer

I try to talk to you and find my words vanish in the air

You’re lips just looks so sweet like a delicious treat

Come on and give me a deep velvet kiss

Come on and kiss me on a velvet night like this

Touch me I’m here and waiting and I’m anticipating

Tasting your luscious lips, you are my favorite wish

Come on and give me a deep velvet kiss

You’re just like a sweet chocolate treat

Oh you’re a secret I can’t keep

Come on and give me a deep velvet kiss

Come on and kiss me on a velvet night like this

Touch me I’m here and waiting and I’m anticipating

Tasting your luscious lips, you are my favorite wish

Come on and give me a deep velvet
